Mirela Diaconu is a graduate of fashion design courses in the Instituto NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) and a Master in Accessories Design at Domus Academy, both in Milan. She also participated in seminars focused per project with Diego Dolcini (final master project), Daniela Puppa, Frankie Morello, Future Concept Lab, Mario Sorbo, Carlos Osman.

The diploma Collection in collaboration with Diego Dolcini was presented in the international competition „ITS SIX Accessories” in 2007, with technical support from the fashion house Ferragamo.

Mirela Diaconu opened her own showroom in 2007, same year that marked her fashion debut. in the framework of the third edition of Gala Avanpremiere, where she presented alongside established names in the Romanian fashion (Wilhelmina Arz, Agnes Toma).

The designer passion for the mix between colurs and textures, the special focus on the finishings and details have put Mirela’s name in the spotlight of the romanian fashion market. An important role had the designers appearances in the Romanian media, the showings of each season collection, the ambition, perseverance and not the least, her talent.

The atmosphere of the collection Soul Prints present on Molecule F is created by the metaphor inspired by the feeling of dizziness when you wake up from your dream, back  to the  reality. Mirela Diaconu wanted to capture the lived moment before you connect to the world around you, when the memories are still alive, those 2-3 seconds between the moment you open your eyes and the actual awaking, those are the seconds when the soul fingerprints are clearly visible, then all it will be lost in the daylight. This  is the most wonderful feeling when everything is possible, when the difference between reality and fiction is unseen.

Mirela has combined the casual and simple cuts with draperies, folds and overlaps focusing on proportions, on the details of the figure, on  the volumes which give the freedom feeling to the body. At the same time the silhouette is dressed easy for a sense of relaxation and dreaming.

The main material of this collection is the silk. By using it, the designer wanted to inspire a sense of grace and serenity enveloping us in a delicate feeling, like that on the sleepy Sunday mornings when we lay in the bed next to our loved ones.  Along with silk, the veil was used to emphasize even more the feeling of floating. However, the collection would mean nothing without the combination with organza – the Queen of thevolumes and special effects. Of course the twists and the folds are significant.

The colors  chosen by Mirela Diaconu are  pastels which dress the nacked body like the sheets embrace the bed. These are combined with original prints, symbolic for personal items, and suggestions of the feeling of déjà vu.
